Respect, Resilience and Relationships

Children at Highley are assessed half-termly using the assessment grids below. Staff tick off objectives as children achieve them, with the highlighted statements being ‘key performance indicators’. As children move through the year, they are assessed as being ‘on-track’ to being ‘secure’ in their own year group’s programme of study. Pupil grids are used for Reading, Writing and Maths and can be found in the front or back of children’s workbooks. Staff, children and parents can see at a glance what children need to cover and what they have already successfully achieved. We believe this is useful to show age-related expectations across subjects and year groups.
